Rotary drum micro filter
Products Description
Product Overview
This rotary drum screen (also called rotary screen microfilter) is an efficient separation device for suspended impurities like hair, fibers, plastic particles, sediment in wastewater. It is one of the core units for wastewater pretreatment.
Core Structure
It consists of a rotary screen drum, drive motor, reduction device, flushing system, frame, water inlet and outlet.
- The screen drum uses stainless steel wedge wire mesh or punched mesh. The mesh aperture is usually 0.5~5mm (it can be customized according to the particle size of wastewater impurities).
- The flushing system has built-in high-pressure spray heads. These heads are used to backwash impurities trapped on the inner wall of the screen drum. They prevent clogging.
Working Principle
- Wastewater enters from one end of the screen drum.
- When the screen drum rotates, water flows through the mesh pores and out. Impurities are trapped on the inner wall of the screen drum.
- As the screen drum turns, the trapped impurities are carried to the top flushing area.
- They are washed by high-pressure water and fall into the slag collection tank. This realizes solid-liquid separation.
Advantages of Pretreatment Application
Targeted Performance
It specifically intercepts light impurities like hair, fibers, sediment in car wash wastewater, domestic wastewater. It protects subsequent equipment like water pumps, membrane modules from clogging and wear.
Stable Operation
- It runs automatically and continuously. You don’t need frequent manual cleaning. Its failure rate is low.
- The stainless steel material has good corrosion resistance. It adapts to the acidic and alkaline environment of wastewater.
Small Footprint
It can be installed vertically or horizontally. Its structure is compact. It is suitable for scenarios with limited space like car washes, small wastewater treatment stations.
Adaptation Parameters for Car Wash Wastewater Pretreatment
For 5-20m³/d car wash wastewater, the recommended parameters for the front-end rotary screen are:
- Screen drum diameter: 300~500mm
- Length: 800~1200mm
- Treatment flow: 0.2~1.0m³/h
- Mesh aperture: 1~2mm
It can effectively separate sediment, sponge debris and other impurities in car wash wastewater.
Application Range
The rotary screen microfilter (drum type) has advantages like efficient solid-liquid separation, small footprint, fully automatic operation. It is widely used in municipal, industrial, water supply, aquaculture and special water treatment fields. It is especially suitable for upgrading projects, space-limited and resource recovery scenarios.
- Municipal Wastewater and Reclaimed Water (The Largest Main Market)
Core Scenarios
- Wastewater treatment plant upgrading (depth filtration after secondary sedimentation tank, SS controlled to 5–8mg/L)
- Reclaimed water reuse (landscape/municipal miscellaneous use/industrial makeup water)
